Al-sultan al-a'zam shams al-dunya wa'l din abu'l muzaffar iltutmish as-sultan, "Dehli" in the upper margin / Shahada and an inscription citing Caliph al-Mustansir Billah as Amir al-Muminin ("leader of the faithful"), Koranic verse in the circular margin "Hadrat" above. 26.5mm, 10.9 grams. Mint of Hadrat Delhi. "The coins of the Indian Sultanates" D34/35 var. SKU T1518-52369-v4469
There are two very rare varieties of this type published in the Goron and Goenka "The coins of the Indian Sultanates" - D34 with "Dehli" in the upper segment of the reverse, and D35 without the mint name in segments. This coin has the full "Hadrat" on the reverse and "Dehli" on obverse, a type not listed anywhere. Interesting and unique.
