Rare 100$ obsolete note, 1839, the Exchange Bank of Virginia, USA

Issued by the Exchange Bank of Virginia, dated January 15, 1839. Rare pre-Civil War high-denomination note, low serial number (#36). A problem-free attractive note, good edges, a few pinholes. Excellent grade for this type, they are hard to find in such a nice condition.

From an old US collection, with a sticker price of 255$, the collector paid 225$ for it at some point judging from the collection ticket.
