Rare and enigmatic 1/2 falus, Mohamed, 1555-57, Malwa Sultanate, India
Abu'l Muzaffar Mohamed Shah al-Sultan Khallada Allah Mulkahu // Zarb 'urf Mandu fi sanah [...]. 15mm, 4.72 grams. "The Coins of the Indian Sultanates" #M233.
The identity of this Mohamed is unknown. Goron and Goenka suggest it might have been the Suri Mohamed Adil, or perhaps Daulat Khan (who is thought to have controlled Mandu at the time) before being defeated by Baz Bahadur in 1558. The coins of Mohamed are rare.
