The Arslanid dynasty was a lesser-known ruling family in Central Asia, primarily associated with the region around Khwarezm (in parts of modern Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan). The Arslanids were connected to the broader Turkic ruling elite and often ruled as vassals under larger powers. They maintained a degree of local autonomy, governing important trade cities and fertile lands along the lower Amu Darya River. Little detailed historical record survives about the Arslanids specifically, but they represent one of the many regional Turkic dynasties that played key roles in the shifting political landscape of medieval Central Asia.
