Lot of 50 cheap bronze and billon drachms of Parata Rajas (Paratarajas). Bust of King or King standing on obverse and a swastika surrounded by a Kharoshti legend. Many are not completely cleaned or uncleaned, an interesting selection of very rare coins. Many can be identified, but these are generally in poor condition, as shown on the picture. 14-20mm in size. The Pāratarājas are a little known dynasty who ruled in what is now the Pakistani province of Balochistan, probably during the second and third centuries. Their coins are inscribed in Brahmi and/or Kharoshti and all show a swastika, probably their dynastic symbol. Much research into this series was done by Dr. Tandon in the earlier 2000's.
