Nice 100$ note, Confederate States of America (CSA) - 1862 (T-41 #317A)
Dated Dec 18, 1862. Issuance stamp on the back and and Savannah "interest paid" stamp. Watermarked CSA in block letters. Lovely high grade, with no staining or problems, but with a few tiny pinholes.
In the lower left, portrait of John C. Calhoun, theorist of Southern ideology. In the center, three slaves cultivating a field. On the right, an allegorical representation of the Confederacy, personified by Columbia. The center of the bill is highlighted with an inscription "HUNDRED" printed in red ink.
