Nice 100$ note, Confederate States of America (CSA) - 1862 (T-40 #300)
Dated Sep. 6, 1862. Handwritten issuance note (Oct.13, 1862) on the back, Jackson "interest paid" stamp. Lovely grade, with no staining or problems, but with a couple of tiny, nearly invisible pinholes.
In the lower left, portrait of John C. Calhoun, theorist of Southern ideology. In the center, three slaves cultivating a field. On the right, an allegorical representation of the Confederacy, personified by Columbia. The center of the bill is highlighted with an inscription "HUNDRED" printed in red ink.
